How I lost my LiveJournal

LiveJournal.com is a well-known blog site, with 7 million subscribers and a noticeable international presense. In particular, it carries about 50,000 active blogs in Russian.

I used to have a blog there for 4 years which I have to confess I didn't use much -- I mostly comment in other people's blogs.

Nevertheless, it was nice to have it.

Today the blog has been "suspended". This posting, which used to be located here, was deemed to violate the Terms of Service. Here is the letter from the "abuse team", livejournal.com disciplinary body. The posting contains three words only, "kill a nazi", and it is classified as specifically violating Section XVI, 1 of the ToS, which prohibits "hate speech".
